Additional Details on Cunard's Queen Victoria Revealed

Cunard is revealing more details on its new 2,014-passenger Queen Victoria, which will begin service in December. The third-ship in the fleet will feature the iconic profile and black-and-red livery of its cruise line's transatlantic liners. Inside the 12-deck ship, guests will be greeted by a three-tiered grand lobby, two-level dining room, plus a formal restaurant, casual lido, traditional Queens Grill and Princess Grill and other dining and bar venues. There will be two swimming pools, four Jacuzzis and a Winter Garden with a retractable roof in the health club/spa area. In addition, the Queen Victoria will feature a 6,000-book library and Royal Shopping Arcade. Best of all, more than 80 percent of the cabins will offer sea views; 70 percent will have private balconies.

Carnival Guests Can Again Bring Nonalcoholic Beverages on Cruises

Carnival Cruise Lines has backtracked on a recent change to its onboard beverage policy, now allowing guests to bring limited quantities of nonalcoholic beverages onboard its ships. The original policy to ban such drinks altogether was put in place after guests abused the cruise line's leniency on the issue by bringing overly large quantities of nonalcoholic drinks on board. Carnival is closely monitoring the situation moving forward.

New Music and Production Numbers Top the Bill on Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Regent Seven Seas has answered the curtain call with entirely new entertainment on three of its most popular ships, the 700-guest all suite and balcony Seven Seas Mariner and Seven Seas Voyager, as well as the 490-guest all suite Seven Seas Navigator.

The new entertainment program features a nine-piece orchestra, with an emphasis on live performances and five new productions, permanent cast of singers and dancers plus a full-time ballroom dance couple.

Regent's new production numbers are sure to please even the most discerning cruise travelers, starting next month:

"Vintage Vegas" – a music spectacular that returns cruisers to the golden age of Las Vegas with showgirls, the music and comedy of the Rat Pack and stylish covers of songs from Bobby Darrin, Frank Sinatra and other stars of the strip.

"Motown Gold" – a rocking tribute to Motown Sound, including chart-toppers from the Supremes, Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and others legends, complemented by The Regent Signature Orchestra.

"They're Playing Our Song" – a traditional musical written by Neil Simon that was a Broadway hit and toured across the country, featuring a full orchestra, dancers and singers.

"Jazz Legends" – a tribute to jazz legends past and present, performed by The Regent Signature Orchestra and onboard singers.

"Ballroom Bravo" – a revolutionary dance extravaganza, this show fuses the best of ballroom dancing with traditional theatrical dance performed by a featured dance couple. This pair also will offer complimentary ballroom dance lessons to guests during the voyage.
