TWO NEW CARNIVAL SUPERLINERS NAMED
Carnival Cruise Lines is launching a new class of superliners over the next several years, starting with the recently named Carnival Dream, scheduled to enter service in October 2009, and Carnival Magic, which will enter service in 2011. These ships will be the largest in the Carnival fleet, capable of carrying 3,652 passengers each. Two other Carnival ships are on order, including the 110,000-ton Carnival Freedom, slated to debut in Europe next month, and the 112,000-ton Carnival Splendor, scheduled to enter service during July 2008.

MAJESTY OF THE SEAS OVERHAUL COMPLETED
Royal Caribbean International has completed its extensive bow-to-stern renovation of the Majesty of the Seas, including several new dining and entertainment options for cruise guests. The newly transformed ship resumes its year-round, three- and four-night cruises from Miami. Royal Caribbean completely overhauled guest suites and staterooms, now providing Wi-Fi access in each; casual dining areas including the new Windjammer Marketplace featuring Asian, Latin, Mediterranean and American food, and Compass Deli; and main dining rooms. Other enhancements include major renovations to the Majesty Day Spa and ShipShape Fitness Center, now featuring the virtual Elemis SpaBar; Adventure Ocean youth center and ultra-hip Fuel Nightclub for teens. Major updates also were made to conference rooms, pool deck, theater and Casino Royale.

"DEPARTMENT OF ROMANCE" DEBUTS ON PRINCESS CRUISES
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the hit TV series, The Love Boat, famously set aboard a Princess ship, the cruise line is debuting its Department of Romance in February. Its dream team of romance experts, including romance guru Trish McDermott, everyone's favorite couples therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer, veteran wedding planner Alba Carreras and Captain Stubing himself, actor Gavin MacLeod, is launching a number of romantic pursuits on the Emerald Princess. These include the Romance by Room Service package, featuring champagne and chocolates, scattered rose petals, flameless scented candles, romantic background music and special ultimate balcony dinner. Princess also is offering an entertaining new class, "Become a Certified Romantic", as part of its ScholarShip @Sea learning program, offering tools for couples interested in rediscovering romance and sustaining their love after returning home. Romance TV features timeless romance movies, such as "An Affair to Remember" and "Sleepless in Seattle".
